Mama Africa Community Engagement: Spotlight on Zamindlela

At Mama Africa, our commitment extends beyond just serving delicious food. We strive to engage with and uplift the local African community actively. Whether sourcing ingredients from nearby farmers and suppliers or participating in cultural events and initiatives, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and support within our community.

In line with this ethos, we are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Zamindlela, a local business dedicated to amplifying African narratives through art and design, with a particular focus on interior spaces.

The Visionary Behind Zamindlela

Meet Tselane Bolofo, the visionary founder behind Zamindlela. Tselane's journey into interior design began in 2016, influenced by the DIY projects and renovations her parents undertook while she was growing up. With a deep-seated passion for Africa and its natural beauty, Tselane channels her creativity into various mediums including interior design, photography, videography, and the founding of Zamindlela.

Tselane shares, "The concept of Zamindlela took root during my travels across Africa, where I was profoundly inspired by the continent's rich tapestry of artisans and design. Zamindlela, meaning 'to make a way,' was born from the desire to carve out a space for African narratives within the realm of art and design, particularly in interior spaces."

Zamindlela's Unique Offerings

Zamindlela offers a stunning range of furniture and decorative interior pieces, each meticulously crafted through sustainable practices and in collaboration with artisans of color. From Kenya to South Africa, each piece reflects the diverse cultural influences and artistic talents of African artisans.
